Championship Season Week 4

With the state meet rapidly approaching, we need to keep or consistency of training going, but the most important thing we can do now is to make sure we are getting adequate amounts of sleep in addition to training, and hydration and fuel.

Monday October 18 - 6 am 30 minutes recovery pace + strength 3 pm Vine St extension (new variation)

Tuesday October 19 - 6 am 30 minutes recovery pace + core 3 pm TRAX

Wednesday October 20 - 6 am 30 minutes recovery pace + strength 3 pm Highland Run

Thursday October 21 - 6 am 30 minutes recovery pace + core 3 pm Tennis Courts

Friday October 22 - 6 am 30 minutes recovery pace 3 pm speed workout (possible split workout with JV)

Saturday October 23 - 9 am Progressive Run

5A Divisionals Information

 The 5A state final qualifying meet will again be held at Lakeside Park in Orem. It will be a wet and cold day and the course will probably be a little chewed up and muddy by the time we race on it after the four 6A races earlier in the day.

The entire team is welcome to come on the bus and cheer on their teammates.

Sufficient layers or water proof clothing will be a good idea this day.  

We will not be able to get school lunch that day with our early departure, so everyone will need to bring their own food.  The timing of the meet makes that better for meal planning anyway.  

There will be 17 teams in our qualifying races, the top 12 teams will go to state.  The top 6 individuals from non-qualifying teams will also go to state.

Championship Season Week 3 (Divisionals)

 This is the most important week of the championship season with the state qualifying meet on Tuesday. 

Monday October 11 6 am 30 minute recovery pace + strength 2:30 pm meet in A 433 for the JV meet debrief and divisionals planning 3 pm easy run tennis courts

Tuesday October 12 6 am 15 minute shakeout run + race visualization (normal 30 minutes + core for those not racing) 10:25 am out of class 10:45 bus leaves for Lakeside Park 12:30 girls race 1:30 boys race

Wednesday October 13 6 am 30 minute recovery pace + strength 2:30 pm race debrief room A 433 3 pm easy run ghostrider

Fall Break runs could have the time or location changed due to weather

Thursday October 14 10 am Deer Creek Trail (travel run up Provo Canyon) This run has been changed to Dewey Bluth Park to run the gully. 

Friday October 15 10 am Pipeline Trail This run has been changed to Deer Creek Trail up Provo Canyon. We will meet at Hillcrest at 10 for anyone that needs the caravan to find their way.  We will meet at the trail head at about 11

Wheeler Farm JV Race

 This meet was added to our schedule just a few weeks ago.  This meet will only have JV races, so it is a chance for some of our other kids to get top billing in a race.

Wednesday 6 am 30 minutes recovery pace + weights 3 pm Varsity tennis courts JV tempo run

Thursday 6 am 30 minutes recovery pace + core 3 pm Varsity fartlek ladder session JV easy run TBD

Friday 6 am JV shakeout run + race visualization 10:45 out of class 11:00 bus leaves first race noon 

Saturday 7:30 am Dewey Bluth Park JV progressive run Varsity tempo run 9 am middle school district meet, be there to cheer on future Huskies
