State!

State will be at Sugarhouse Park again this year.  This is a crazy meet with 10 races going starting at 11:00 with the 1A girls and culminating at 3:30 with the 5A boys.

Our races are at 2:00 for the girls and 3:30 for the boys.

The crowds are crazy for this meet and parking can be an issue in the park.  You may get lucky, but you may need to park in the shopping center  across 13th E.  Be careful crossing the street if you do. There is parking in the park in lots and on the side of the road, it just depends on when you get there and how many people are leaving from the earlier races.

Seven Utah teams are ranked in the national rankings, with the American Fork boys, Timpanogos boys and Davis boys and girls all ranked in the top ten.  We may see some course records go down tomorrow as well with Conner Mantz, Lucy Biles and Aubrey Argyle ranked as some of the top individuals in the country.

Utah cross-country is better than it has ever been, so be prepared to see some amazing performances.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to low 60s.

UEA Break Workout Schedule

If you are missing days, contact the coaches to get the workout.  We need to keep training hard.  The Pre-Footlocker is on Nov. 8th.

Thursday meet at Hillcrest at 7:45 am.  We will be carpooling up to the capital to run City Creek.  If you or your parents could drive, that would be helpful.

Friday meet at Hillcrest at 7:45 am.  We will be doing a recovery run from Hillcrest, maybe we will let Dani find a new route for us.

Saturday meet at Draper Park at 7:45 am. We will be running on the Porter Rockwell Trail.

State Course Preview

Kyle Perry put together a nice course preview for mile split last year. You should check this out.

Region Championships

The final results weren't quite what we were hoping for today, but we had a pretty good day.  We had 23 5K prs and one season best performance for the boys and six prs and five season bests by the girls.

Complete meet results are up at athletic.net.

For the second straight year we are sending both boys and girls teams to state.  This makes our third trip since 2011 for the girls and our 8th consecutive trip for the boys.

While we had several good performances, the highlight for me was watching our JV boys take eight of the top ten places.

I want to thank all the parents who have put their time and money to helping the kids this year.  Of course the endless rides to many locations for our very young team, but also the volunteering at our home meets, the food provided at our team dinner last night, the several parents who have brought drinks and post-race snacks throughout the season, the breakfasts during HARC week. Your efforts have been very much appreciated by the coaching staff.
