Weekly Schedule

The schedule for this week will be a little unusual.  Tuesday will be a day with out official practice, so you can either work out on your own or meet with some of the captains at the usual time and place.  Coaches will be back for Wednesday for our usual Wednesday trail run.

Thursday will be at Hillcrest and Friday we will meet at the NE corner of Draper Park.  Let the captains now if you need to carpool from Hillcrest.

Sandy City Classic 5K Information

Make sure you register before July 1st to avoid the price increase for late registration.  You can either register online or in person at the Sandy City Parks building 440 E 8680 S.

The race starts at 7 am on the Sandy City Promenade.  We will meet at the NW corner of the Target building in the small parking lot adjacent to the building.

We have had many age group award winners over the years and a few overall winners. Here is to hearing Hillcrest runners winning medals.

First Travel Run

Wednesday will be our first travel run of the season.  Make sure you have your travel waivers filled out and signed by your parent/guardian.  Most of us will meet at Hillcrest like normal, but if you live close to the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon, you can just meet at the park and ride lot and wait for the caravan to arrive.  It will take us about 20 minutes to get to the park and ride lot from Hillcrest.

Remember we have a young team, so we need plenty of parents/older runners to drive.

We usually finish trail runs at about 8:00 and make it back to Hillcrest at about 8:30.  If picking up your child that late is an issue, we usually have plenty of friendly teammates to give rides to runners who need them.

Our second travel run will be Friday.  This run will be on the Dimple Dell trail and will start from the Wrangler Trailhead on 13th East.  For this run, we usually just have everyone meet at the trailhead rather than carpool up from Hillcrest.

Make sure mileage tracker sheets are being filled out.  The evening runs are important to help legs get recovery between our harder runs (like trail runs).

We had a good first week of summer practice last week.  We had more kids show up for the first day of practice than I believe we have ever had.  Keep up the good work, log those miles and no zeros.
